Trinity
We believe in the Trinity, the mystery of one God in Three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Father
We believe that God the Father is the Almighty Creator and Sustainer of all things, visible and invisible. We assert that God is sovereign, eternal, and the measure of all things in heaven and on earth. We trust in God’s perfect will and believe that in Him all things are possible.
Jesus
We believe in Jesus Christ, one Lord, the only begotten Son of God, being of one substance with God, yet on earth fully human. We affirm that Jesus is the eternal Word of God and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary. Through Jesus’ perfect life, passionate death on the cross, and glorious resurrection from the dead, God offers redemption to a broken and sinful humanity. By faith in Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives we are rescued from the brokenness of our sin, and through God’s grace, restored to a right relationship with the Father. We assert that Jesus’ death is payment in full for the penalty of all sins; past, present, and future, for those who repent, confess, and believe upon the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We affirm Jesus’ exclusive claim that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father but through Him.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of Life, who comforts, convicts, guides, and counsels us in our journey of faith. We affirm Jesus’ assertion that we must be born again of the Spirit in order to participate in His Kingdom and we seek to be both transformed and equipped by and with the Spirit’s gifts. As Jesus’ disciples we actively seek the Father’s counsel and help through prayer and through Jesus who prays on our behalf.
Scripture
We believe that all Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the authoritative Word of God, completely reliable for faith and practice. As people of The Book, we believe it is the Bible alone - the teachings of the prophets, apostles, and Jesus the Christ - that is the final authority for life and faith. As Christ’s disciples we are called to live holy lives according to the grace afforded us and in obedience to the teachings of Holy Scripture.
Sacraments
As followers of Christ, we believe our purpose is to go into all the world, proclaiming the gospel and making disciples of all peoples. As Christ’s church we affirm the sacraments instituted by our Lord: recognizing one Baptism for the public remission of sins, and acknowledging the taking of Holy Communion for our spiritual nurture and unification as the people of the New Covenant in Christ Jesus.
Sin
Within creation God made both man and woman in His image for the purpose of loving and enjoying Him forever. Yet we chose to live in disobedience, apart from God in sin. As a result of this choice, separation from God, alienation from one another, corruption, and sin entered the human experience, contrary to the Father’s original design. Even so, God loved His creation and His people and provided a way of redemption through sending His only son, Jesus Christ.
His return
As Jesus’ disciples we pray that our every thought and action be held captive by Christ and look forward to the resurrection of the dead upon His return to earth in glory.
